NavCore 8.840

Just a line to inform everybody that the newest version of NavCore (8.840) is available. It seems that (
hosanna in excelsis
) this version IS compatible with IQ routes, which means that finally you can see the correct lanes at junctions, etc. Renault has obviously heard the claim of many of us who wanted something resembling (from afar) the CNC... but cheaper

. I ccould provide with some more information, but this is drawn from a (slightly disreputable) site and could therefore be understood as spam. Google for further info!
PS. I write in English as this is easier for me. Désolé!

Could you take some pictures of the "lane junctions" please?
The IQ route in TomTom is an other thing: the system is able to calculate more precisly the time left in function of the time so it take into account the axes always blocked
I realy have to do a news about it

Hi Just1,
You are absolutely right. They are different things indeed! I quoted from a third party and did not realise the mistake at the time

. After some reseach, it so seems that the newest version has both things, which is good news: IQ Routes & ALG (Advance Lane Guidance), as per
here. (Apak is a knowledgeable guy on this topic that I have encountered over several forums: he has probably installed the newest version so the info there is probably vanilla

.)
I cannot send you an image since I do not have the TomTom yet (I still have a week of painful waiting until mi Mégane arrives...). But I have found images on the Web of ALG as seen in other TomTom models, and I doubt that those in the Carminat will be any different. You can get one
here.
Edit Transam: Here is the picture:
Hope this helps.

Hi all,
I can now confirm that the image in my preceding message is indeed spot-on and does look like the one you will get in a Tominat. Check this
link, taken from a Spanish site. (Transam, could you put the image into the post... I do not know how to do it

).
It seems that the latest map compatible with this Navcore does show the ALG only when in main roads, not when driving secondary ones. I do not know if this is any different from the usual TomTom policy, but probably not.
Oh, I forgot to mention in my other post that in order to get IQRoutes and ALG you need a compatible map, not only the Navcore. Just in case someone is wondering....

Edit Transam: Done!

Thanks for the pictures (thanks to Transam for the corrections

)
I'll see that quietly this WE. I'm trying to have some news by Renault about this update.

Indeed, I upgraded to 8.840 via TomTomHome just the other day and the ALG appear on screen as a new option. I have on the other hand lost the radar information; it seems that this is not rare after an upgrade, but it is annoying nonetheless! I'm trying to get the radars working again, but have little time now to make research... Hopeful I will be able to find more info on this issue during Christmas. I will post it here if I find a solution, but if you know how to activate the radars again, do tell here; I will appreciate it.
Keep well, mes amis!
